Whenever elections are drawing near, politicians make several isolated statement and uses reverse psychology even when occasion does not in any way require such , with the need to seek the support of a group and get sympathy votes for their candidates.
Reno Omokri is supporting Atiku Abubakar and their tribal political chess is playing out even in their public statements.
He has been seen with Atiku whose strategy for campaign is to make a blank statement or react to public discuss in order to drive himself into the minds of the masses.
In a multi-racial Nigeria, candidate are prone to using blanketed statement psychologically to gannet support. All the candidate are eyeing votes from the the south west knowing it is the most settled region in current day balkanized Nigeria.
In recent times, Reno Omokri has been making allusion to the tribal heritage of the Yoruba people
In his preparation for the current political climate sometimes in June of 2021 Reno had made option on the Yoruba people
He said ,
people doing that with much wider spoken African languages, such as Swahili and Hausa.
They may speak it privately in their homes abroad. but not publicly, and even if they do, it is not to the extent of the Yoruba.
It has gotten to the extent that the Metropolitan Police now recruit Yoruba speaking Constables, and Harrods now employ Yoruba speaking cashiers. Oh please do not just take my words at face value. Fact check me.
Go to Houston on a Sunday, you will see Yoruba people everywhere in their native wears, adire, plus abeti aja and eleti aja.
[b]Here in California, other Africans now draw crowd to their parties by saying ‘the Nigerians will be there.’
This will annoy other tribes, including mine, however, when foreigners talk about how cool Nigerians are, they are usually referring to Yorubas.
Take it or leave it, but the Yoruba are the most progressive Black people on the face of planet Earth.
They produced the first Black African Nobel laureate for an academic category (Wole Soyinka), and the first Black African military ruler to have voluntarily handed over to a civilian President (Olusegun Obasanjo), and the first Nigerian to win a Grammy Award (Sade Adu) as well as the first person born and bred in Africa to have won a Pulitzer Prize (Dele Olojede).
The reason why Yorubas are the biggest music stars of Nigerian origin is because they are unabashedly Yoruba. They do not try to sing or act like Westerners. They are very in-your-face with their Yoruba-ness. And when people like themselves to such a high degree, others tend to join them in liking them.
There are an estimated 15 Black billionaires on Planet Earth. Three of them are Yoruba. More than any ethnic nationality in Africa.
US President, Joe Biden, named a Yoruba man, Adewale Adeyemo, as deputy Treasury Secretary. This is the highest position to which a Black African has been appointed (not elected) in US history. Another Yoruba man, Dr. Oluyinka Olutoye, became the first person on Earth to successfully perform a surgery by taking out an unborn fetus from its mother’s womb and putting it back after the surgery.
77% of all Black doctors in America, and a very large percentage of these are Yoruba.
I commend the Edekiri people (the real name of the Yoruba). You guys are oni te si iwaju."
While his assertion are valid, one would wonder why the recent high praises for the Yoruba people. Some of the assertion are part of the reasons the Yoruba people cannot continue to remain in he Nigeria union where their cultural norms is obscured by the backward North and for the most part dissipated over a long period of association with other conflicting people.
Reno Omokri has not stopped as he also recently issued another commendation for the Yoruba people as "the most polished culture on earth"
His statement in part reads
''In my opinion, the highest, most polished culture on Earth is Yoruba culture. No other culture generates care and affirmation from elders to youths, and respect from youths to elders as Yorubas. They respect age over ANY type of wealth. It is key to their progress! Why? Because wealth is unstable, whereas age is stable and a good security for maintaining the moral fabric of society. Open Scripture and read the Laws of Moses.
They could have been taken from Yoruba culture. Moses taught respect for God, respect for parents and respect for elders. These are the cornerstones of Yoruba culture. Your money perishes with you if you think you can go into a Yoruba family meeting and lord it over your elders.
This cardinal cultural buoy is why the Yorubas are received with open hearts ANYWHERE they go on planet Earth. By nature, everybody loves to be respected. Though there are exceptions to every rule, A Yoruba man at the zenith of his success is filled with enough humility, rather than surplus ego, and can PUBLICLY prostrate to his elders, or other authority figure, the way President Obasanjo prostrated FLAT to the Olowu of Owu. Scripture says “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”-James 4:6. And when you meet a people who respect you irrespective of your financial status, you open up to them. What a blessed people the Omo-ti-olu iwa-bi (the children that the lord of good character gave birth to) are!''
While the Yoruba appreciate his single acknowledgment of what others tries to deny, our curiosity is particularly drawn to the motive as several electioneering gimmicks is unraveling
