KIRIJI WAR FILM PRODUCTION
Our attention has been drawn to a sponsored news item on the social media that the production of the Kiriji War film is about to commence and that a Script Writer, an Accountant and a Production Crew is about
to be commissioned to prepare a Script, draw up a work plan and production budget, all to be followed up by Auditioning.
While the sponsored online news state that a Script writer is about to be engaged, another sponsored online states that a 2015 script has been presented to a select few Yoruba Obas in 2015.
CAVEAT
We are by this notice alerting the public that neither Barrister Ojo-Williams, the copyrighted Author of the Kiriji War Film, nor his
Foundation; the Kiriji Cultural Foundation, co- owners of the copyright are Parties to this Scheme which to all intents and purposes is a scam calculated to deceive, defraud and fleece certain persons particularly our revered Traditional Obas and institutions.
HERE ARE THE FACTS AND RECORDS:
1. The Kiriji War film had been written registered and copyrighted since 2008.
The Masterpiece was the product of a well researched Script authored by Barrister Ojo-Williams based on authentic history of the Kiriji War informed by the contributions of scores of renown history Scholars throughout
Yorubaland about, the War itself, the Film Title, the Warlords, the Confederate towns, the
War Heroes and the Battlefield, the Peace Treaty Obas.
2. Pursuant to the copyrighted script, many Artists both ANTP and newly established TAMPAN members from all Yoruba States attended the public Auditioning at the Osun State Cultural Centre; Osogbo under the
supervision of Comrade Ashaolu exterwhile President of the ANTP, Mrs Bola Anike Obot exterwhile ANTP Treasurer who were priviledged to see the Script and Mrs Shola- Duroladipo Akinsola and other experts.The all
expenses paid ( for Hotel, feeding and Honorarium) weeklong exercise was comprehensive and cannot be discarded.
3. Pursuant to this, the Production Budget was prepared and approved by
the Author and Copyright owners. subject however to review if and when required given prevailing economic realities.
4. Pursuant to the foregoing the Kiriji War Battlefield with the Kiriji War historical
spots and artifacts, the Labinjo Caves, Fejeboju stream including the Kiriji War Masquerades was chosen and are being, preserved and protected by the Author and Foundation till date as the Kiriji War film major location; in addition to other prime historical towns in Osun Ekiti and Oyo States all contained in the
copyrighted Script.
5. Pursuant thereto the first round of Reheasals took place publicly at the Kiriji Battlefield under the supervision of officials of the Osun State Ministry of Culture, with Honorarium full paid.
6.Pursuant still, the procurement of Costume and Warriors attires costing several millions of Naira had been ordered and part delivered by the Wardrobe Manager Comrade Victor Familusi a.k.a Duduyemi of Duduyemi Theatre Productions.
7. WHEREOF the contents of the KIRIJI WAR FILM SCRIPT are protected under the Nigeria Copyright Laws. Copy/Edit of the contents and any any reproduction of the Script whatsoever without our express written permission will be subject to the maximum fine/penalty imposed by the extant Law. This is apart from claims for Exemplary and Aggravated Damages that may arise AGAINST ANY PERSON OR PERSONS for FULLER redress for any infringement of rights under the Law.
CONCLUSION.
Now this, adequate legal measures had been put in place to prevent the Kiriji War Film
production from being hijacked and or infringed upon.
The Kiriji War Film is borne of several decades of painstaking research and at enormous costs running into scores of Millions of Naira. It is not just a project aimed at getting rich quick through incantation chanting and noisesome shakabula guns like many others. The rehearsals will continue and all shall soon move to location.
